Being here

You don't have to come to Roohmi to accomplish anything. Just be. Sit under a tree. Watch the reservoir. Walk without a destination. Listen to the rain. Talk. Don't talk. Read. Sleep. Eat.

See

Mist moving across the hills. New leaves. Changing light. A bird landing where you were looking.

Five Senses

Hear

Rain on the roof. Wind through grass. Frogs after dark. A silence that isn't really silent.

Smell

Wet earth. Leaves. Wood smoke. Food being cooked.

Something that grew nearby. Something seasonal. Something simple.

Taste
Feel

Rain, sun, soil, cool stone—and the different rhythm of a day spent outdoors.

Food

Food is one of the ways we meet the landscape.

Some of what we eat comes from the land around us, grown naturally and seasonally.

What appears on the plate depends on soil, water, weather, insects, labour and time.

Eating makes all those relationships unexpectedly immediate.

Time spent in a different landscape can shift what we notice.
